Sony already has its prime time filled with successfully running serials such as Bade Acche Laggte Hain, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Saas Bina Sasuraal, Parvarish, Kya Hua Tera Vaada and Dekha Ek Khwab. Now they are all set to launch a new fiction ‘Shubh Vivah’.
Shubh Vivah is being produced by Multi Screen Media who also produces Kya Hua Tera Vaada. Set in the hinterland of Uttar Pradesh, Shubh Vivah is the story of a middle class girl who along with her four sisters lives with their single father. Rakesh Bedi who was once a darling of prime time television and had wooed audiences with his comic characters marks a comeback with Shubh Vivah as the father of the five daughters whose only dream in life is to get all the daughters married to appropriate grooms.
The lead pair of Shubh Vivah would be played by Neha Janpandit and Eijaz Khan. The story is set away from the urban life and would bring across the rustic flavor on to prime time television soaps.
The producers and Sony Television are both upbeat about the prospects of the soap and with another woman centric plot with a non urban feel it is certainly something that would find the right resonance among the Hindi audience.
